Autologous Protein Solution (APS) is a new treatment for knee pain associated with mild to moderate osteoarthritis (OA). It is designed to alleviate pain and restore balance to your inflamed knee by introducing high levels of good proteins from your blood to the affected knee. These good proteins can block the harmful proteins (cytokines) responsible for your joint's inflammatory condition. Other good proteins can then contribute to the health of your cartilage. A sample of blood is taken from a vein. It is then spun in a centrifuge to remove unwanted blood components and then turned again to obtain the protein liquid. The protein liquid is then injected into the affected knee.

Results may be noticed after a few weeks, but healing and repair will continue for many months, with results lasting from 12 -24 months.
